copying and pasting entries from March, 2003 to present into MS Word.
Tedious, but the end result will be worth it.

For those of you addicted to books the Borders bookstore in Natomas (4750 Natomas Blvd. Sacramento, CA) is closing and everything (*Excludes magazines, newspapers, gift cards and certificates, and all electronics.) is 40% off. Final day is January 3rd.

I'm planning on going there today. If I go, I'll report back as to how picked over it is.

That is all.

President George W. Bush, here at an appearance Monday in McLean, Va., said in an interview on ABC's 'Nightline' that the Bible is "probably not" literally true -- even though "I think you can learn a lot from it." He cited the New Testament as an example, saying "the important lesson is, 'God sent a son.'"

Here is a picture of the painting I sold.
The woman who bought it said that it meant
something to her, because her husband died on a full moon.

I guess I can call myself a professional artist now.
I sold one of my paintings!
It was one that I had hanging at Starbucks. I'll post a picture of which one it was later when I'm at my home computer.

Take heart.
It is not over. No matter what the misguided may think, the taking of rights can not stand.

Using the NPR interactive map and giving McCain all the states left except for WA OR and CA...Obama wins. It's looking good. Even NPR is saying that they see few paths for McCain (obligatory statement).

I cast my vote.
My polling place was in the garage of a private residence. That's the first time I've experienced such a polling place. The poll workers conducted themselves like every other polling place I've seen. There was no line. I got right in, voted and was on my way within 5 minutes.
I think Starbucks is offering free drinks to those that vote...I'll hit them up.

Now I shall be glued to the radio and/or TV for the rest of the day.

My parents are voting for Obama and they live in Indiana (one of those states that could turn from red to blue).

I received two calls from the Yes on prop 8 people. I shot the first one down. I told the second to fuck off...well, not really, there were little ears around so I just told the second that I'd already been called, but I thought the other.

Those of you with children of a certain age are familiar with a game called Hullabaloo. Even if you're unfamiliar with the game for the matter of this post it doesn't really matter except for the name. At any rate, while driving a six year old voice came from the back seat (luckily there was six year old back there), "What does hullabaloo mean?". And as I searched my brain's thesaurus for a word or phrase that would explain, I uttered, "Uh...."
And then that six year old voice piped up. "Commotion?"
"Yes. Exactly. Very good." I said.

Smog
Went to the test only smog station this morning. My car is a '92 so I waited like a female waits for the results of a pregnancy test. My car passed and is now re-registered. Now I can breate easy until next smog check. Maybe I'll have a newer car by then.

A year ago the Dow closed at its all time high 14,146. Today the Dow closed at 9258. That adds up to a nearly 35% change.
Where do we go from here? Not necessarily up. There is still the problem of liquidity. If there is not a turnaround soon, more people will be losing jobs which will lead to more mortgage defaults and even less consumer spending which will lead to more lay-offs which will cause even more people to default on loans...downward spiral. Also, there is a new trend popping up. People are now starting to walk away from their auto loans in the same manner that people have been walking away from their mortgages. A wholesale abandonment of debt obligations.
Scary!
